Customer Rating: Summary: Great player with one flaw Comment: This is a wonderful CD player for active types. I keep mine in my "Tune Belt" and don't care how old-fashioned I look.
My only complaint about this model is the location of the volume control. When you slide the player into the belt, the volume control often gets nudged and this of course affects the volume! I've learned to put a piece of Scotch tape over it; the Scotch tape can be peeled back and the volume changed numerous times before the Scotch tape has to be replaced. The volume control should have been slightly recessed and/or put in a different location.
Mine (a refurbished model) came with "ear buds," hated by me and a million others. They just fall out while jogging etc. I was able to get a pair of the older-style headphones, which work fine.
Overall a great CD player that hasn't failed me yet. Customer Rating: Summary: very rugged unit Comment: I was looking for a CD player I could carry and use in my car that was well built to take un-intended abuse.
It works very well and in the car with the joystick function there is no need for a remote control.
I have other Sony and Panasonic portable CD players , haven't broken or dropped one yet , came close though.
I just wish It player MP3's.
Customer Rating: Summary: Impressive CD player Comment: I bought this re-manufactured CD player on the recommendation of my husband who had already purchased one like it. It arrived with easily understandable instructions. The headset I received with the player was less-than-wonderful - a pair of $2 cheapos. My husband's had included a headset that matched his CD player. I simply used my favorite set of earbuds and I was in business. The player alone was well worth what I paid.
We purchased these players primarily to listen to books while walking the beach, riding bikes and such. The lid clamps down and latches on the CD to prevent it from being jostled. We can strap the player to our hand using the included velcro strap but we have chosen to fashion a shoulder strap to keep our hands free for shell collecting, etc. Not ONCE in the month-plus that we've used them have either of us experienced any skipping, stopping or disruption. Impressive. Customer Rating: Summary: Sony D-SJ301S2 Sports CD Walkman Comment: After much research on the internet, I have found the perfect CD player for running. This CD player absolutely does not skip, and the hand strap makes it very easy to hold securely while I am running. It is also waterproof, so that when I sweat from running, it does no damage. I have even ran in the rain with no problem. The only drawback is that Sony apparently does not make this product anymore, so I bought a refurbished one from Amazon.com. It has far exceeded my expectations. Customer Rating: Summary: Best portable CD for the money Comment: This is definitely the best cd player I bought. I had a Bose PM-1 and a Bose TRI level cd player and they skipped " a lot"! Notwithstanding, the battery life was worth 2-3 days of playing about an hour each day. This Sony cd player has 3 solid bar indicators and I have yet to see it any less. Even though, I've used it full blast with full bass for 3-4 days before I changed the rechargeable batteries. I run with this player and it has "NEVER" skipped! That's one of the biggest plus of this player. The sound is very good and it has a 3 level bass boost button. The buttons are located on the player so that it is almost impossible to turn it off or go to another track by accident. The only draw back is the amber yellow window for display functions. It can be hard to view with direct sunlight or at night. But apart from that. This is the one you should get if you want performance and less wastage on spending money on batteries.
