Transcribe audiotapes in a jiffy with this Panasonic transcriber. The Panasonic RR series is designed for the small office/home office market. They are full-featured machines at very low prices. These units have built-in condenser mics and mic jacks for external mics. The RR-930 uses micro-cassette tapes and has two-speed taping function with variable (+/- 20%) tape speed control. Headset and foot pedal for remote review are included. Foot pedal has play, backspace, and rewind functions. 3-position backspace allows you to adjust how far it rewinds when you take your foot off of play: 0, 1 or 3 seconds. The RR-930 includes LED indicators for power, tape run, record and quick-erase, 3 digit tape counter and Volume and Tone controls. Silent full auto stop and auto backspace control add even more convenience to this unit. For the home transcriptionist, all you need is a telephone record adaptor and you're ready to rerecord.

Customer Rating: Summary: Great for taking minutes Comment: I used this machine for years to take minutes of business meetings and it was used when it was handed over to me. I used it for ten years before it gave out. When researching a replacement, I could not have been happier when I found this same brand and model available. I am not tech savvy but I can adjust the speed of the tape, the tone and volume and voice speed. I do not use the foot pedal to pause, rather I use the pause button. There may be as many as 15 people in the room and I sit near the center of one of 4 long tables (2 long tables butted together adjoined to 2 across). This easily picks up everybody's voices. This has enabled me to record our minutes far easier than I could do by hand or with just a standard tape recorder.
Customer Rating: Summary: Microcassette Recorder Comment: I have used this type of machine in the past and it works very well for me.
Customer Rating: Summary: headphone jack broke on two identical models Comment: I have heard the high pitch squeals other reviewers mentioned when using the foot pedal, but I am only hearing it on the left side, since the headphone jack on both of my machines seems to have broken.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent product Comment: Even though this product has been around for years and it is being replaced with new technology, it is still a great product. Easy to use....
Customer Rating: Summary: Machine works fine foot pedal another story. Comment: I have had this machine just over 1 month and have been using it between 3-5 days a week, and it worked just fine.
This morning the foot pedal decided to rewind back to the beginning of the tape every time I let my foot off it. Playback works fine if I disconnect the foot pedal, but I have to manually press play and rewind.
The rewind works really well and doesn't require a lot of repeating phrases.
Called Panasonic customer support to request a new foot pedal and got hung up on.
